This soaring and stunning bas relief interpretation of The St. Louis Cathedral captures the iconic New Orleans church rising up at the forefront of Jackson Square.

The structure is worn and weathered, while maintaining its elegant, awe inspiring, and statuesque presence, a symbol of grandeur to anyone who walks underneath.

Located in the historic French Quarter, it is the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Cathedral in the United States. It was originally built in 1724 and rebuilt twice after a hurricane and a fire. The present church overlooks beautiful Jackson Square and was dedicated in 1794.

Marc’s interpretation of the church is intentionally distressed, nodding at centuries of weather and wear, while adding nobility and resilience to the art.

Reproduction cast in resin, with almond finish and midnight blue background. 29” wide by 38” tall, local pickup is available. COA included.

The work is signed in gold leaf finish and hand titled by the artist. Crosses and clock also finished in gold leaf color. An amazing addition to your New Orleans collection!

Vampire Fishes: Predators In The Night
$6,800.00

A fleeting moment of predation and vulnerability is captured forever in this striking 28 x 48 work, where a school of vampire fish—Hydrolycus sp.—find themselves caught in an unforgiving turn of fate. Swept into a shallow coastal eddy under a blazing sun, these once-formidable predators are rendered helpless, their powerful bodies stilled as they succumb to the elements. Preserved in a luminous pinkish stone, the scene feels both ancient and immediate, as if unearthed from a forgotten epoch yet pulsing with narrative tension.

Known for their elongated fangs and commanding presence, these fish are reimagined here with an almost mythic intensity. Their flowing, cape-like fins evoke a dark elegance, reminiscent of Dracula’s cloak, while their tightly clustered formation suggests both instinctual unity and shared doom. The composition draws the eye across the textured surface, where subtle tonal variations in the stone create depth, movement, and the illusion of time itself pressing down upon the scene.

There is a compelling duality at play—ferocity and fragility, motion and stillness, life and preservation. The sunlit beach, implied through warm undertones and organic textures, contrasts sharply with the creatures’ fate, heightening the emotional resonance of the piece. It invites the viewer to consider not only the raw beauty of these apex predators but also the inevitability of change and the quiet poetry of natural cycles.

Ideal for collectors with an appreciation for narrative-driven art and fossil-inspired aesthetics, this piece offers more than visual impact—it tells a story. Its scale makes it a commanding presence in any space, while its subject matter sparks curiosity and conversation. Whether viewed as a meditation on extinction, a tribute to prehistoric life, or simply a visually arresting work, it stands as a unique and thought-provoking addition to a discerning collection.

Cast resin on wood panel, mixed media materials.

Capture a moment where power meets inevitability in this striking 28 x 48 artwork featuring Hydrolycus—the legendary “vampire fish”—rendered in a dramatic, fossil-inspired scene.

Once apex predators, these fierce pack hunting fishes are depicted suddenly caught on a sundrenched landlocked beach in midday sun, where they quickly perished, only to be dried out and fossilized over the millenia- their flowing, cape-like fins and elongated fangs frozen in time captured as they succumbed to the elements.

Encased in luminous pink stone tones, the composition evokes both ancient preservation and immediate tension, blending natural history with artistic imagination in a way that feels timeless and unforgettable.

A conversation provoking work for a cerebral collector who loves the story behind the artwork.

BLACK TIDE FOSSIL ASSEMBLAGE — PANEL 4275

Black Tide Fossil Assemblage — Panel 4275
Sale Price: $5,200.00 Original Price: $6,800.00

Black Tide Fossil Assemblage — Panel 4275

Inspired by Green River Formation, Wyoming

A sculptural bas-relief work that evokes the appearance of a recovered fossil bed, Black Tide Fossil Assemblage — Panel 4275 captures the tension of a preserved moment in deep time.

The composition presents an intricate field of fossilized fish forms, arranged as though suspended in the aftermath of a sudden rush of water upon a sandy beach- trapping the school of mollusk hunting fish in the hot afternoon sun. Drawing from the visual language of paleontological sites, the work suggests both chaos and stillness—an ecosystem halted and held in relief.

Each fossil element is carefully constructed, positioned, and hand-finished to achieve the texture and presence of an excavated surface. Subtle variations in tone and depth create the impression of carbon infused mineralization and immense age, giving the piece the character of a discovered object while remaining a fully original work of contemporary art.

This is not composed of real fossils, but rather a meticulously crafted artistic interpretation designed to evoke the feel of a natural history specimen.

Ideal for collectors drawn to:

  • Natural history and paleontology

  • Archaeological and scientific aesthetics

  • Museum-inspired interiors

  • Narrative-driven, conversation pieces

More than wall décor, Panel 4275 operates as a conceptual artifact—a work that bridges science, imagination, and sculptural design. Measures 33”x37”, mixed media on wood panel.

One-of-one original. Handcrafted and signed.

This haunting 37" x 32" fossil-inspired bas-relief sculpture captures the visual drama of a prehistoric moment suspended in time. This original artwork presents a densely layered field of bony fish forms embedded within a limestone-like matrix, rendered with striking clarity and depth. While it convincingly evokes the look of a genuine excavation, the piece is an artistic interpretation—carefully composed to reflect the precision of natural history and the tedious nature of an archaeologist’s exhumation.

The composition suggests a sudden and catastrophic event along a primordial shoreline. The tightly grouped fishes appear caught mid-motion, their overlapping forms conveying urgency and collective movement before an abrupt end. Their deep, carbonaceous black coloration contrasts powerfully against the pale, textured limestone surface, implying exposure to ash or extreme environmental conditions that altered their preservation.
