Every spring, the wetlands, culverts, and small aquatic byways surrounding southern Louisiana provide one of nature's quiet spectacles. Native Louisiana irises emerge from the marsh grasses in clusters of deep indigo and violet, with their soft yellow throats, thriving where few cultivated flowers could survive. Their beauty isn't manicured or delicate—it is resilient, spontaneous, and unmistakably Southern.

Louisiana Irises is my interpretation of that familiar seasonal ritual. Rather than creating a botanical illustration, I sought to capture the feeling of encountering a small stand of wild irises on an early morning walk—their blooms layered against one another, catching warm sunlight while rising from the textured landscape that nurtures them.
